1950s Spends weekends motor cycle racing with well-known motor racing journalist uncle, Denis Jenkinson
1960 Passes driving test
1961 Sculpture student at Saint Martin’s School of Art, London
1963 Student of Industrial Design at Royal College of Art (RCA)
1964 Circumnavigates the Med in a Ford Jeep, Tangier to Baghdad and back
1973 Senior Designer, Ogle Design
1974 Part-time lecturer in Vehicle Design at RCA
1976 Starts Design Consultancy, Peter Stevens Design. Clients: Alpine Renault; Cougar Marine; TWR; ERF Trucks; Brabham F1
1985 Lotus Cars, Chief Designer. Lotus Excel; new Lotus Esprit; New Lotus Elan; Isuzu 400R. Cadillac, Saturn, Hindustan, Triumph, Chrysler

1994 RCA award: 21 years of vehicle design and teaching

2001 Worshipful Company of Carmen VIVA award for design education

2004 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Becomes convenor of the annual motor industry educational lecture series to complement the festival.
